BBQ Green Beans in the slow cooker

The first time I had this recipe, the wonderful hostess at my couples shower (you know...the wedding shower you have for both the bride and groom) made this as a side dish to our meal.  I should really remember more about my couples shower then just the green beans.  Honestly, the green beans were the most memorable part of the entire evening.  They are just soooooo good!  Now, they're a summer staple in our house.  Along side burgers, steak and/or chicken, these green beans are an excellent pairing.  Plus, they're made in the slow cooker, so you don't have to heat up your kitchen on a hot summer day making a side dish.  Perfection!

Shopping List
4 cans green beans, drained
1 onion, chopped
6 slices of uncooked bacon (I use turkey bacon, you use whatever you like), chopped
1 heaping cup of ketchup
1/2 cup brown sugar

Stir all ingredients together in a slow cooker.  Cover and cook on low 4-6 hours or on high 2-3 hours.

Done!  Summer couldn't be simpler!

I cannot wait to try this! Do I just need four regular sized cans? I think they are like 14 ozs?
